1. Who we are

This Privacy Policy explains how VALLEJO MONCADA, MATEO (ABN: 15 505 263 096) trading as Hausie Home ("Hausie", "we", "us", "our") collects, uses, discloses and stores personal information when you use:

4. Information we receive from other sources

We may receive information from:

  • Wix in connection with orders, checkout and storefront activity
  • Stripe in connection with subscription billing and customer billing management
  • Home Assistant, the Hausie addon and related connected systems to the extent data is transmitted to Hausie for service delivery, diagnostics, support or subscription feature management
  • our hosting, infrastructure and security providers

5. Home Assistant and connected smart home systems

Hausie may integrate with Home Assistant and other customer-managed smart home systems. Those systems may independently collect, process and store household activity, device events, automations, local logs, sensor states and usage history.

Hausie only collects information from those systems that is transmitted to Hausie for purposes described in this Privacy Policy, such as:

  • account management
  • installation and device pairing
  • subscription and feature management
  • diagnostics and remote support
  • inventory and configuration processing
  • service improvement and troubleshooting

Hausie may receive technical and inventory-related information such as:

  • areas
  • devices
  • entity identifiers
  • Home Assistant users
  • inventory summaries
  • device heartbeat and support telemetry

Hausie does not describe itself in this policy as collecting the complete household action history or event history unless and until that functionality is enabled and this policy is updated.

6. How we use personal information

We may use personal information to:

  • create and manage user accounts
  • authenticate users and keep the portal secure
  • process orders and installations
  • deliver and facilitate delivery of our services
  • activate, manage and support subscriptions and free trials
  • pair and manage Hausie-connected devices and installations
  • provide diagnostics, support and authorised remote support
  • schedule, reschedule and manage appointments
  • send administrative, billing, support and service notices
  • monitor, protect and improve our services
  • comply with our legal obligations

What we do not provide or control

Hausie does not itself provide or control all services or systems that may interact with a customer's smart-home environment. Depending on the setup, this may include:

  • internet access or telecommunications services
  • electricity supply or network services
  • third-party voice assistants such as Alexa or Google Home
  • Home Assistant core software
  • third-party manufacturer clouds, firmware, APIs or mobile apps

Changes, outages, account restrictions, discontinuations or security events affecting third-party systems may affect how Hausie services operate.

7. Payments

Subscription and payment processing is handled by Stripe.

Hausie does not store full debit or credit card numbers in its own systems. Hausie may receive limited payment-related information from Stripe, such as customer identifiers, subscription identifiers, subscription status, plan details and billing period dates.

8. Cookies, storage and similar technologies

Hausie uses client-side storage and may use cookies or similar technologies for:

  • authentication and session management
  • remembering portal or device selections
  • storing profile or preference information
  • security and service functionality

With a visitor's consent, Hausie uses Google Analytics 4 on its public website and shopping wizard. Google Analytics may process pages viewed, interactions with the website or wizard, referring pages, device and browser information, and approximate location derived from IP address. Hausie uses these reports to understand and improve its website, shopping experience and marketing performance.

Hausie does not activate Google Analytics unless the visitor accepts analytics cookies through its cookie choice mechanism. More information about the cookies used, their duration and how to change a choice is in the Cookie Policy.

9. Remote support

Hausie may offer remote support features. When authorised, remote support may involve temporary support windows, support session records, support user creation, connectivity tooling and technical logs necessary to diagnose and resolve service issues.

Remote support settings and rules include:

  • customer authorisation before access is enabled
  • a default support window of 120 minutes unless another arrangement is agreed

Remote support is not intended to mean continuous monitoring of the home. When a remote support session is authorised, Hausie personnel or authorised service providers may be able to view system configuration, device metadata, entity names, automation settings, logs and other technical diagnostics reasonably necessary to investigate the issue.

Where technically possible, customers may revoke or disable remote support access, but doing so may limit Hausie's ability to provide support, diagnostics or premium support features.

10. Children and household users

Hausie is intended to be contracted and managed by an adult account holder.

Household users, including children, may use certain smart home functions where access is provided by the primary account holder. The primary account holder is responsible for supervising any household access they create or authorise.

If Hausie becomes aware that it collects personal information relating to children through household access, Hausie may rely on the authority of the responsible parent or guardian where appropriate under applicable law.

11. Disclosure of personal information

We may disclose personal information to:

  • Wix
  • Stripe
  • AWS and hosting/infrastructure providers
  • Tailscale and remote support tooling providers
  • Home Assistant-related integration services where applicable
  • service providers that assist with support, operations, security or communications
  • regulators, authorities or other parties where required by law

Current additional provider position: No additional customer-facing production providers are currently identified beyond the core providers already listed. Internal or future operational tools may be added later and should be reviewed before publication if they process customer data.

12. Overseas disclosure

If Hausie stores or processes information using infrastructure or vendors located outside Australia, personal information may be disclosed overseas in connection with those services.

13. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures intended to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.

No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Customers also play an important role in protecting their own environments. Weak passwords, shared credentials, insecure Wi-Fi, poor local access controls, unsupported devices and compromised third-party accounts can materially increase privacy and security risk outside Hausie's direct control.

14. Retention

Hausie retains personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including to provide services, resolve disputes, maintain support records, comply with legal obligations and protect the business.

Current retention periods are:

  • account data: 5 years after account closure
  • support data: 3 years after closure
  • order and tax data: 5 years
  • telemetry and inventory: 12 months

15. Access, correction and privacy requests

You may request access to, correction of, deletion of or other action relating to your personal information by contacting:

  • privacy contact: [email protected]
  • support contact: [email protected]

16. Complaints

If you have a complaint about how Hausie handles personal information, contact us first using the contact details above. Hausie will review the complaint and respond within a reasonable period.

17. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our services, data handling practices, legal obligations or risk controls. The latest version will be published on the relevant Hausie service surfaces.

If we make a material change to how personal information is collected, used, disclosed or otherwise handled, Hausie will provide additional notice where appropriate and, where required by law, seek fresh consent or provide any applicable control before the change takes effect.
